About Course

This is a Government of Alberta approved 2-day classroom-based training for the Occupational Health and Safety for the Asbestos Worker Course.

The course combines practical and theory designed for you to learn the skills required to work safely around asbestos and the proper protocols and asbestos abatements methods and procedures. Completion of this course provides you with the necessary certification to access a restricted area due to an asbestos hazard.

This course covers:

• Asbestos types, uses, properties
• Health Hazards of exposure
• Asbestos abatement methods and procedures
• PPE
• Legislation
• Other hazards and safety concerns

The course is provided by Top Quality Inspections and Consulting. It is specifically designed to inform workers about the industry regulations and gain experience in regards to asbestos abatement methods and safe work procedures. If you are working on sites with suspected or confirmed asbestos-containing materials, you must be certified in this course in order to enter any “Restricted Areas” at your worksite.
